The Holy Spirit is our ultimate helper. However, there are also specific people that God places in different stages of our lives to help us get to a higher level. If you look back at your journey, you can probably recognize at least two or three people who played a significant role in helping you become who you are today. Those are destiny helpers! And yes— it is impossible to fulfill your purpose without them.
Don’t run by yourself
When I first started blogging, one of the things my then fiancé used to tell me was, “don’t run by yourself”… and I think what he was trying to say by this is that no one has the ability to fulfill great destiny on their own. As humans, we are interdependent beings; we need one another. If you run by yourself, you might end up getting stuck somewhere, and no one will be around to help you.
It’s crucial to recognize the people who are truly for you—the ones God has positioned to help you navigate different seasons of your life. The truth is, we don’t have all the answers, and that’s okay. What you’ve been crying out to God for might already be in someone else’s hands. Maybe God is just waiting for you to recognize and connect with that person so you can step into your blessing.
Never look down on anyone; you never know who might end up being your helper of destiny
So I’ve been studying the book of 1 Samuel lately and a few days ago I got the chance to read chapter 9 which tells a story about how Samuel got to meet Saul. Scripture tells us that one day Kish, Saul’s father, lost his sheep so he sent his son (Saul) to go with a servant to look for them. Saul and his servant looked everywhere and could not find the sheep. Eventually he gave up and wanted to return home with the servant. Just as they were about to leave, the servant responded:
“I’ve just thought of something! There is a man of God who lives here in this town. He is held in high honor by all the people because everything he says comes true. Let’s go find him. Perhaps he can tell us which way to go.””
1 Samuel 9:6 NLT
In this situation, the servant became Saul’s destiny helper. If they had given up and returned home, Saul would have never encountered Samuel, missing out on his opportunity to become king. But because of the servant’s persistence in continuing the search for the lost sheep, Saul was positioned to receive the blessing that was waiting for him.
Humble yourself
One of the things I admire about Saul in this particular chapter is his response when his servant suggested to go see the man of God, Samuel. Saul did not impose his will. He was humble enough to take his servant’s idea into consideration.
““All right,” Saul agreed, “let’s try it!” So they started into the town where the man of God lived.”
1 Samuel 9:10 NLT
This goes to show that God can use anyone to help us, but we must be open to recognizing and accepting that help—regardless of who it comes from. Someone’s background, socioeconomic status, or how they speak or act might not align with our preferences, but that’s never an excuse to dismiss or mistreat people.
Let’s be mindful of how we treat those around us, because you never know who might hold the key to your blessing!
PEACE & LOVE, ALWAYS <3
Powerful! Don’t run by yourself. You might run faster by yourself but you run farther with helpers of destiny.
